Xulia Sánchez Rodríguez

Xulia Sánchez-Rodríguez holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting (2021) from the University of Vigo, where she also obtained a Master’s Degree in Advanced English Studies with a specialization in Linguistics (2023).
She is currently pursuing her predoctoral research funded by an FPI fellowship within the project AgreeInDiatopy: Subject-predicate agreement and linguistic complexity in English diatopy (supervised by Dr. Yolanda Fernández-Pena and Dr. Javier Pérez-Guerra). Her work focuses on the diatopic variation of English, analyzing subject-predicate agreement using big data techniques and corpus linguistics.
During her studies, she participated in the Erasmus+ program at Université Rennes 2 (2017–2018) and completed research stays at the University of Freiburg (2023) under the supervision of Dr. Lotte Sommerer and at the University of Helsinki (2024) under the supervision of Dr. Tanja Säily. She also worked as a computational linguistics researcher at the Centro Singular de Investigación en Tecnologías Inteligentes (CiTIUS) (2023–2024) of the University of Santiago de Compostela, under the supervision of Dr. Marcos García.
