I am Senior Lecturer in the Department of English, French and German at the University of Vigo since 2003, where for years I have taught American literature and textual analysis at undergrad level and several Postgrad courses on research methods in the humanities and cultural diversity. My teaching and research interests have focused on American literature and culture, with a specific orientation towards American Jewish fiction and narrative, textual and cultural negotiations, representations of ethnic and cultural identities, and the variety of textual genres that emanate from the Holocaust as historical event. I have been a member of the University of Vigo research group NETEC (Negociacións Textuais e Culturais no Ámbito Anglófono) since its origins. I have published numerous articles and book chapters on the works of Gary Shteyngart, Art Spiegelman, Saul Bellow, Bernard Malamud, Henry Roth, Edward Dahlberg, Clifford Odets, Edgar Allan Poe, as well as reviews in the field of Holocaust-related translation studies. Since 2019, I have been the coordinator at the University of Vigo of the MA Interuniversity Programme in Advanced English Studies and Its Applications. Since 2023 I serve as board member for SAAS, the Spanish Association for American Studies.
