Jorge Luis Bueno Alonso

My research focuses on the study of stylistic and lexical alternations in the translation of OE and ME texts into modern languages (Spanish / Galician). I understand translation both in its textual (text to text) and visual (text to image, be it film or graphic novel, to mention two forms of expression) aspects. I have always been interested in the study of the processes of translation of cultural content from one language to another, based on a philological revision of the source materials. In recent times, I have extended my interest to the study of the synchronic translation of contemporary poetic texts based on medieval texts, which is defined as mediated philological translation: medieval English texts philologically translated by specialists into contemporary English and rendered into Spanish by a researcher with knowledge of the original texts.
