She has been awarded six research productivity assessments by the Spanish National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI): five for research, and one for knowledge transfer. Currently, her research focuses on the creation of corpus-based multilingual resources, terminology, analyses of textual conventions, and theoretical and professional aspects of translation. She has led and participated in numerous R&D&I projects funded through competitive calls, as well as in various regional thematic networks (such as the Corpus Linguistics Network, the Linguistic Resources Network for the Knowledge Society, and e-Learning) and European initiatives (such as TRAMICTEK). Elena has coordinated the COLE research group, which received official recognition as a Competitive Reference Group at the regional level. She is currently a member of the GALMA research group. Her research output includes numerous academic publications in leading journals and publishers (such as Meta, Jostrans, Sintagma, Omomazéin, Cuadernos de Tradução, Çedille, Sendebar, and Peter Lang). She has also given invited presentations at international conferences, and developed resources such as RERCOR, a free online multilingual portal on rare diseases, which serves both translation and research activities in this field. Elena has contributed to socially impactful knowledge transfer by authoring numerous biomedical translations. These translations, produced in collaboration with patient associations such as AFM-Téléthon (France) and ASEM (Spain), aim to facilitate access to updated texts on rare diseases and enhance their visibility. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Tremédica and the editorial board of Trans. Revista de Traductología. She is also part of the scientific committees of prestigious translation journals. Additionally, she collaborates as an external evaluator for university quality assurance agencies and academic research and teaching assessment institutions.
