Béatrice Pépin

Béatrice Pépin holds a Master’s Degree in Legal and Economic Translating from University of Cergy-Pontoise (France, 2001) and a Licenciatura en Traducción e Interpretación in Spain (homologation, 2005). She graduated in Foreign Applied Languages (Maîtrise LEA, 1998) in France, spending one-year as part of the Erasmus Program at the University of Vigo. She has been freelancing since 2003, working either in pragmatic and literary and humanities translating and is a published literary translator from Galician, Spanish and Portuguese into French. She combines these activities with teaching at the University of Vigo (English, French and German Philology Department). She is a pre-doctoral researcher through the PhD Program in Translation and Paratranslation from the same university and a member of BiFeGa research group on Literary and Cultural Studies, Translating and Interpreting. Her research approaches Galician literature translating, focusing on poetry as both a practice and a perfect field regarding paratranslation, with editorial creation and Galician literature dissemination as other matters of interest.
