Ana Iglesias Pérez

Ana Iglesias Pérez is a predoctoral researcher with a Xunta de Galicia grant and a PhD student in the Translation and Paratranslation doctoral programme. She belongs to the Estudos Literarios e Culturais, Tradución e Interpretación (BiFeGa) Research Group. She holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting and a Masters in International Trade, both from University of Vigo. In 2023, the University of Vigo awarded her the prize Premio Extraordinario de Fin de Grado and she was also given the Premio Fin de Carrera by the Government of Galicia. After defending her Master’s project entitled ‘The role of the translator-interpreter in international trade’ in 2023, she decided to continue her research by starting PhD studies. Her doctoral research focuses on translation in the internationalisation of the Galician wine sector. The main objective of her PhD, which is still in its early stages, is to learn about the role, tasks and tools of the translator and interpreter in the internationalisation of Galician wineries.
