Alicia Sentí Janssen holds a Diplomatura in Maxisterio de Educación Primaria (2011), a Grado in Estudos de Galego e Español (2016), for which she received the Extraordinary Prize for Academic Excellence from the Universidade de Vigo, and a Máster in Lingüística Aplicada (2017).
She is currently a PhD candidate in the Programa de Doutoramento en Estudos Lingüísticos at the Universidade de Vigo. Her research is grounded in interactional sociolinguistics and discourse analysis and focuses on the construction and negotiation of gender identities in naturally occurring interaction. Specifically, she examines gossip as a distinct discursive genre and analyses how members of a peer group mobilise gossip across different moments in their shared conversational history.
She also serves as an interim Lecturer in the Departamento de Filoloxía Galega e Latina (Universidade de Vigo), teaching in the faculties of Comunicación and of Ciencias da Educación e do Deporte at the Pontevedra campus.
