Alba Martínez Fernández

Alba Martínez Fernández holds a Bachelor’s degree in Language and Literary Studies, with a specialization in Hispanic Philology, from the University of Vigo, where she also completed a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education, Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching, specializing in official languages and literatures. She was awarded both the Extraordinary End-of-Degree Award and the Regional End-of-Career Award of the Autonomous Community of Galicia in recognition of her undergraduate academic achievements. After an initial experience in secondary education teaching, she redirected her academic career toward research. She is currently a PhD candidate in Literary Studies at the University of Vigo and a member of the e-LITE research group (Ediciones y Estudios de Literatura Española). Her research interests lie in Spanish literature of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, with particular emphasis on the work of Garcilaso de la Vega. Her doctoral dissertation examines the rewriting and reception of Garcilasian textual segments in later authors, from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries.
