My interests as a researcher have focused on the analysis of spontaneous interactions in Spanish and Galician, addressing issues such as: the structure and functions of everyday speech, gendered communicative styles, the speech of women and men, events and conversational genres (gossip, complaints, narration, humor, small talk), language alternance (Galician/Spanish) and, more recently, the uses and functions of vocatives and pragmatic markers in conversation.
