Susana Rodríguez Barcia (Vigo, 1977) is a linguist and lecturer in the Department of Spanish Language at the University of Vigo. She was awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize in 2005 and the Pontevedra Provincial Council Research Prize in 2007. Her research activity, on which she has published several manuals and articles, focuses on the relationship between ideology, discourse and society from a critical perspective with the hegemonic discourse. In this sense, she works in the fields of glotopolitics, ACD (together with the researcher Ana Varela Suárez) and gender studies. In 2016 she published Introducción a la lexicografía (Introduction to lexicography) in Síntesis. Currently, in addition to Critical Linguistics, his research work also focuses on the study and translation of the Anglo-Saxon poetic musical tradition. In 2023, together with the musician and poet Bosco Gil de Gárate, he published the essay Poética del Rock. Imaginario lírico de la cultura popular; and in 2024 he also co-authored with Bosco Gil de Gárate a poetic anthology of salomas translated into the Galician language entitled Cantos del mar (Morgante Ed., 2024).
