Associate Professor at the Department of English, French, and German Philology at the Faculty of Philology and Translation (University of Vigo). Dr Rodríguez-Vázquez holds a PhD in Phonology and Music from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland) and in English Philology from the University of Vigo.
She completed her degree in English Philology at the University of Vigo and obtained the Advanced Music Degree at the Conservatory of the same city.
She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris and as a senior researcher at New York University.
Rosalía has been visiting scholar at the CSIC, the University of Edinburgh, Université Paris VIII, UPV/EHU, UAB, the Central University of Barcelona, and the University of Lisbon, among others.
She has also been invited to give lectures and seminars at universities such as Edinburgh, Paris VIII, Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, NYU, and Harvard, among others.
She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters in the fields of phonetics (rhythm and intonation), the connection between intonation, emotion, and musical training, the relationship between language and music at the rhythmic-melodic level, and prosody in dubbing.
Additionally, she has published the monograph The Rhythm of Speech, Verse and Vocal Music: A New Theory (Peter Lang).
