Marta Peláez holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting. She also holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics and its Applications and a Master’s degree in Teaching, specialising in Languages and Literatures, and an international PhD in Linguistic Studies from the University of Vigo. She works as an associate lecturer in the Department of Special Didactics at the University of Vigo and as a lecturer in the Department of Language and Literature at the CEU Teacher Training College in Vigo. Her research has focused on analysing the pragmatic dimension both in language learning and in children’s language development, given its impact in the educational field. Recently, she is also working on the comparison of language acquisition processes in childhood and its deterioration in people with dementia.
