Carla Míguez Bóveda (Vigo, 1997) is a pre-doctoral researcher through the “Grants for the recruitment of pre-doctoral research staff in training at the University of Vigo, 2022”. After graduating in Translation and Interpreting in 2020 and completing a Master’s Degree in Translation for International Communication in 2021, Míguez is currently writing her thesis as part of the PhD Programme in Translation and Paratranslation at the University of Vigo. With her research she aims to advocate for the need for specialisation in the translation of queer texts, as well as the normalisation of non-binary language in Galician. Although her work focuses o Language and Gender Studies, a field in which she has published several articles and book chapters, as well as conferences, seminars and workshops, she also focuses her research on the field of linguistic normalisation in Galician.
