Ana Acuña Trabazo

Ana Acuña Trabazo holds a Ph.D. in Galician Philology and is part of the Department of Galician and Latin Philology at the University of Vigo. Her main research lines are:

  1. Galician literature, initially focusing on the study of Galician-language writers throughout all historical periods and later expanding to research on literary phenomena involving speakers of other languages (allophone literary practices). In recent years, she has delved into issues related to gender, ecocriticism, ecofeminism, and ecoanimality, resulting from her participation in various research projects (https://irgal.es/).
  2. The contributions of Galician people abroad. This research line began with her doctoral thesis and later expanded to include the study of female literary and cultural exile.
  3. Popular orally transmitted literature and orature in Galicia and Portugal. This line began through her participation in the Sound Heritage project by the Consello da Cultura Galega and continued through study grants in Portugal. Besides theoretical and practical issues, she has explored the relationship between popular literature and authorial literature, language, sociology, and anthropology, always considering the role of women.
  4. Due to her teaching role at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, some of her research topics also relate to education, such as the peaceful resolution of conflicts or the TPR methodology in teaching the Galician language.

Finally, complementing the above, her collaboration with various associations and official institutions has inspired research on authors connected to Pontevedra, the editing of anthologies, the preparation of exhibitions, and the creation of literary walking tours.
