Carla Figueiras Catoira

Currently a doctoral assistant at the University of Vigo, Carla Figueiras Catoira defended in 2019 the thesis ‘Analyse des ouvrages de référence des littératures africaines de langue française: les croisements idéologiques’, under the direction of Laurence Malingret at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

Her main research interests are literary historiography, African literatures and French-language migrant literatures. She also focuses on the study of the construction of imaginaries, identities and memories through literary texts. It also seeks to privilege and give visibility to the voices of African women writers. Examples of articles published so far are: ‘La importancia de la solidaridad en Aya de Yopougon de Marguerite Abouet’ (2024) in Africanías.
