Rosa Alonso Alonso is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English, French, and German Philology at the University of Vigo. She has participated in various research projects on second language acquisition. Her main research interests include language transfer, the expression of movement across languages, and informal English learning. She has numerous publications in these areas, including authorship of the books The Role of Transfer in Second Language Acquisition (2002), La transferencia lingüística: perspectivas actuales (2020), Factores Individuales en el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas (2023), and co-authorship of Informal Language Learning: Expanding the Learning Horizons Beyond the Classroom (2024). She is the sole editor of the volumes Crosslinguistic Influence in Second Language Acquisition (2016) and Speaking in a Second Language (2018). Additionally, she is co-author of the Diccionario de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje de Lenguas (2007) and the chief editor of VIAL Vigo International Journal of Applied Linguistics.
