I hold a PhD in Linguistic Studies from the University of Vigo, with a dissertation focused on Galician sociolinguistics and critical discourse analysis, specifically on the linguistic discourse in Galicia surrounding language education policies. I currently combine my academic work with teaching Spanish or Galician as foreign languages in Prague (Czech Republic), at institutions such as Charles University and the Cervantes Institute, among others.
My research field focuses on how languages, particularly Galician, are used and represented across different social spheres, and I analyze the power dynamics established through discourse. One of the areas that interests me most is the influence of language policies on the current social situation of the language, particularly regarding its uses, competences, and attitudes.
My research career includes publications in specialized journals and participation in conferences with contributions related to the ideological dimension of languages. Through my professional activity, I seek to deepen the understanding of how discourse influences the social perception of languages and to promote greater critical awareness of the role of language in our lives.
